Starting from Vaujany, this discovery itinerary allows a gentle approach to the activity: gentle slopes, a pretty pass at the end with a superb panorama on the Grandes Rousses massif.
Sabot in patois "Sabaudia" means Savoie : indeed, before the Croix de Fer pass, it was the only passage to Savoie.
This itinerary is ideal to discover ski touring and to make your first conversions. 700m of ascent to fill a beautiful half day in the middle of the mountain pastures and the chalets of Cote Belle.
Once you reach the pass (2100m), the Mont Blanc and the Col du Glandon above the Grand Maison dam will be your main backdrop on the north side.
To the south, the sequence Rochail, Grand Renaud, Col d'Ornon, Coiro, Taillefer and Grand Galbert will have nothing to envy to its opposite panorama.A nice descent to finish and we can finish with a last off-piste run before going home!
It is possible, depending on the conditions and the level of the group, to continue the ascent to the summit of Cote Belle, or why not continue with the aiguillettes of Vaujany to complete a beautiful day.
